Why did the Triple alliance reject Venezuela's mediation proposal?

France, Britian and the US completely ignored this idea and are going ahead with a possible bombing campaign. What's more they are doing it at a time when their allies in the Arab League who supported them are themselves under threat from protests. Is this an attempt to hijack the arab revolt and turn it once again into a regime change exorcise.
